Pack Your Bags And Just Go • TRAVEL

If I was to give anyone any life advice it would be to travel. Don't let anything stop you from experiencing life's most enriching adventures of new discovery of sights and self, whether you worry about flying or boats, the fear of going it alone, lack of money, lack of self-confidence - just do it. Sit down and write a bucket list and add to it: Go on an unknown adventure to an unplanned destination. One day just pack a bag of bare essentials, a spare outfit, a swimsuit, a pair of sunglasses, a camera, a notebook, your passport and some deodorant and go. Go anywhere.

How you choose to do this is up to you, you may want to put a map of the world on your wall throw a dart and wherever it hits is where you book, you may want to close your eyes and place a pin or your finger someone and when you open your eyes that's where you go, you may want to simply turn up at the airport and board the next flight wherever it is. However you do it, just do it. There is something that only the power of the completely unexpected can teach you. Your strength and abilities that you didn't even know you had within you will shine through and I promise you will have the time of your life.

Don't research it, don't over think it, just pack your bags and go, because when you look back at your life you will always regret the places you didn't visit, the sights you didn't see and even if it's not the experience you hoped for, in the years to come it will be one of your fondest memories that you can hold onto. Do the things you never intended on and feel the grounds of lands you never dreamed of touching. Life is an adventure for us to explore, the rules are written by society, they guide us to a uniformed path of career stability and financial security but they lead no room for the mysterious wonderment of complete wanderlust. Society doesn't dictate that we learnt he true value of happiness and the meaning to our own existence, who we feel we are born to be and the feelings of complete contentment we may find on an island somewhere in the middle of the ocean.

Conventionality is only great if you wish to lead a life written by a guidebook dominated by writers with immense power but for those who believe in the art of finding our own messages to write on our walls then we must explore. And when you do explore, document it. Write it all down in travel journal, take photos make a home film, however expresses your experiences best. A box of memories? A collection of post cards? A tattoo for every county you've landed upon? How do you want to see the world? Is it through mediated messages contrived by gatekeepers of knowledge or is it for yourself through fresh, open minded eyes?

Go and volunteer, work in a cafe, learn the language, hitchhike, climb mountains, swim in rivers, be the explorer you want to be. I cannot thank enough myself for pushing my limits and climbing the worlds tallest freestanding mountain when I'd never even been on an English hike before. I cannot thank myself enough for donating all my clothes and towels, shoes and unnecessary possessions to an orphanage overcrowded with children. I cannot thank myself enough for canoeing across the Tanzanian boarder and seeing the Kenyan horizon. There are so many things that I can only thank travelling for and it something that I never plan on stopping to do. I want to see everything I can, smell it, taste, live it, breathe it. Write it all in the pages of diaries, video the good times, the bad, the worst days of my life where I'm broke and tired. Where I've found corners of maps that I hadn't even comprehended visiting.

This month I am heading to Brazil for four and a half months, which means that as of the 27th of April 2016 The Life of Rosie will be taking place all over the South American country, where I will be documenting my adventures with you through daily vlogs. I hope that you enjoy them and that they inspire you, that they teach you something and are interesting. I am really excited to be sharing this journey with you and giving you access all areas to my world.

Ask yourself in 5 years, what can you not thank yourself and travel enough for? Don't let the answer be 'I don't know, I didn't do it.'
